Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; related education may be considered.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Computer Terminology.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in the medical field.
• Minimum 1 year health record management experience or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year NextGen experience or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year training experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other state/federal privacy regulations.
• Willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and audit the efficiency and accuracy of the HIM function.
• Serve as liaison and helpdesk for the HIM department across scanning, release of information, and staff support.
• Audit EHR for scanning errors and misfiles.
• Train newly hired staff on the scanning function.
• Complete special projects, develop processes, and communicate policy updates.
