• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and other state/federal privacy regulations.
• Willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and audit the efficiency and accuracy of the HIM function.

• Audit EHR for scanning errors and misfiles.
• Train newly hired staff on the scanning function.
• Complete special projects, develop processes, and communicate policy updates.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Gardner Health Services is currently recruiting to fill a Health Information Management (HIM) Quality Control Specialist position. This is a full-time, 40 hour/week positions in the Health Information Management Department based out of Gardner's corporate office in San Jose, California.

The primary responsibility of the HIM Quality Control Specialist is to monitor and audit efficiency and accuracy of the HIM function. This position will act as liaison and a helpdesk for the HIM department covering all areas including scanning, release of information, clinical staff support, auditing EHR for scanning errors and misfiles, and train newly hired staff regarding the scanning function. The position will complete special projects such as developing processes, communicate updates and changes to procedures and/or policies

Compensation and level of position placement will be determined based on relevant experience and education.

Release of Information Specialist: $22.00 - $24.00/hour
