The role serves as department head, oversees ICD-10-CM coding, EHR management, and QA reporting, with responsibilities across audits, documentation, and communications with outside agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have RHIA or RHIT, preferred or 3 years LTC Medical Records experience.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have computer knowledge and experience.
• Must have medical terminology knowledge.
• Must have Anatomy & Physiology knowledge.
• Must be able to work proficiently alone and under pressure.
• Must collaborate well with other employees.
• Must read and follow policies; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Department head for Health Information Management.
• Assigns ICD-10-CM coding for admissions and readmissions in EHR.
• Maintains Medicare certifications and reports to HIM Director.
• Coordinates ARD processes with Corporate Audit & Appeals staff.
• Performs HIM chart audits and reports findings in QA meetings.
• Submits monthly trend and monitors EHR for orders and discharges.
