Job summary

Tampa Family Health Centers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Director to oversee medical records operations across TFHC locations in Tampa, Florida.

Reporting to the Chief Regulatory Officer, you will lead the Medical Records team, streamline electronic health record workflows, and establish standardized procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. This is a 100% onsite role requiring travel between TFHC sites; no remote or hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; master's preferred.
• RHIA or RHIT certification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience in HIM.

Responsibilities

• Direct HIM and medical records operations across multiple TFHC locations.
• Supervise, train, and develop Medical Records staff.
• Standardize procedures and improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee medical record accuracy, retention, release of information, and EHR workflows.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership, IT, quality, and compliance teams.
• Conduct audits, monitor performance, and implement process improvements.
• Develop HIM policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
