Job summary

University Health is seeking a flexible and experienced HIM supervisor to lead the coding team across outpatient and inpatient settings. The role emphasizes ensuring accurate coding, documentation, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities include policy development, workflow improvement, and budgeting support, while upholding the health system's guest relations standards and accreditation readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in managing or supervising health information management processes, coding or billing in a medical facility.
• Expert knowledge of Joint Commission standards and licensure regulations; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise outpatient and inpatient coders, coding educators, unbilled and denials clerks.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10CM, CPT, DRG, APC, ASC and related coding and classification systems.
• Develop and implement HIM policies and procedures; plan improvements in work processes and personnel functions.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and monitor expenditures; promote guest relations policy.
