A leading healthcare provider is seeking a medical records maintenance professional. The role requires purging files, managing filing supplies, and interacting with patients, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and effective communication skills. Job Description:
Provides maintenance of medical records according to clinic standards.Job Essentials
1. Purges files for off-site storage according to the requirements of retention services.
2. Monitors and maintains appropriate amounts of filing supplies (folders, labels, dividers, etc.).
3. Interacts with other office staff and works effectively in achieving department tasks and goals.
4. Interacts with patients and/or family members as well as requesters of medical information.
5. Answers phone-calls and responds appropriately.
6. Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives (i.e. CQI, TQM, Lean, 100% participation, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions and procedures. Self-motivated individual with high attention to detail. Basic computer experience (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Six months experience working with medical records / confidential information.
