Maintains and monitors production performed by the transcription service. Investigatesaccounts missing documentation needed to complete coding and billing. Performs activities related torelease of information including processing patient requests for record amendments and recordcertification. Release of medical information to patients, attorneys,Responsibilities:**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:**1. Process patient requests for amendment of their medical record and communicate with the providerand patient in accordance with hospital policy and state and federal laws.2. Review medical records requiring certification for accuracy and completeness and communicatediscrepancies to the release of information service provider.3. Process release of information requests when needed to patients, attorneys, insurance companiesand other requesters in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal laws.4. Monitor work queues in Epic related to release of information to ensure that established turn aroundtimes are maintained and communicate issues identified to leadership.5. Process MyChart and Piedmont Link access requests as needed.6. Act as a liaison between hospital and outside transcription services by monitoring work and expectedturnaround times and provide feedback as needed.7. Monitor transcription pended reports and ensure they contain the proper patient, account anddocument identifiers.8. Monitor transcription work queues for faxes and copy requests and distribute documents asappropriate.9. Ensure questionable or problem transcribed records/reports are investigated within 24 hours.10. Conduct concurrent and post-service reviews of medical record documentation and performquantitative and qualitative analysis to identify potential chart deficiencies (e.g. missing history andphysicals, physician signatures, etc.).11. Assign deficiencies to appropriate clinical or administrative resource; track progress towardsresolution; reassign deficiencies as necessary.12. Conduct weekly audits of incomplete records for providers pending suspension.13. Provide health information in accordance with hospital and departmental policies.14. Communicate professionally with others.15. Daily focus on attaining productivity standards, recommending new approaches for enhancingperformance and productivity when appropriate; report productivity weekly to immediate supervisor.16. Strive for positive patient experience.17. Adhere to Piedmont organizational policies and procedures for relevant location and job scope.18. Complete and/or attend mandatory training and education sessions within approved organizationalguidelines and timeframes.19.
