Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Hi-Lo Driver / Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating a forklift/Hi-Lo to safely move, load, unload, stage, and organize materials, products, and inventory. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and compliance with safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Hi-Lo/forklift equipment safely and efficiently to move materials, components, pallets, and finished products.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are handled safely and securely.
- Transport materials between warehouse, production, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Stage materials and products according to production and shipping requirements.
- Perform proper placement and storage of inventory in designated locations.
- Verify material quantities, labels, part numbers, and documentation when moving inventory.
- Conduct routine pre-shift inspections of forklift/Hi-Lo equipment and report any mechanical or safety issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow company safety policies, operating procedures, and material-handling guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and warehouse organization as needed.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, production, shipping, and receiving teams.
- Complete required paperwork, logs, and material movement documentation.
- Follow all OSHA/company safety requirements and proper forklift operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a Hi-Lo, forklift, or material-handling equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in tight spaces and around personnel, equipment, and inventory.
- Basic ability to read labels, part numbers, work instructions, and material documentation.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required by the position.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an automotive, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Current forklift/Hi-Lo certification or prior documented forklift training.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory, or material handling.
- Familiarity with barcode scanners, inventory systems, or warehouse management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate forklift/Hi-Lo equipment throughout the work shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
- Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, including exposure to varying temperatures and normal industrial noise.
Safety & Compliance
The Hi-Lo Driver is responsible for operating equipment safely, following established procedures, using required personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately reporting unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or workplace hazards.
