Job summary

KPIT is seeking a Senior Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to develop, configure, and test embedded software stacks, diagnostics, and vehicle communication protocols for next-generation architectures. You will work on HIL benches for SDV/ECU validation, debug integration, and ensure adherence to SDV processes and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a strong foundation in embedded systems and automotive ECUs, with exposure to Linux and scripting in C/Python/CAPL/MATLAB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and automotive ECUs.
• Familiarity with at least one automotive communication protocol: LIN / FlexRay / Ethernet.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge: C, Python, CAPL, MATLAB, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain HIL benches for SDV/ECU validation.
• Support flashing and integration of ECUs and rest-bus simulations.
• Troubleshoot HIL hardware, wiring, and communication issues.
• Assist in CI test execution and log defects in JIRA with clear steps.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and testing embedded software stacks, diagnostics, and communication protocols for next-generation vehicle architectures.

Responsibilities

HIL Setup & Maintenance

• Assist in setting up and maintaining HIL benches for SDV/ECU validation
• Support Flashing and integration of ECUs and rest‑bus simulations
• Help troubleshoot HIL hardware, wiring, and communication issues

Automation & Tools

• Assist in continuous integration (CI) test execution where applicable
• Log defects in tools such as JIRA with clear reproduction steps and evidence
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues
• Follow SDV development processes, safety guidelines, and quality standards
• Actively learn automotive protocols, architectures, and validation methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and automotive ECUs
• Familiarity with at least one automotive communication protocol:
• LIN / FlexRay / Ethernet (basic exposure preferred)
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge:
• C, Python, CAPL, MATLAB, or similar

Technical Skills (Preferred)

• Exposure to HIL/SIL/MIL concepts
• Familiarity with Vehicle Spy, Vector tools (CANoe/CANalyzer) or dSPACE / NI HIL systems
• Basic understanding of:
• AUTOSAR (Classic or Adaptive)
• SDV concepts (centralized compute, virtualization, OTA, SOA)
• Experience using Linux or embedded development environments

Soft Skills

• Willing to work in Night Shifts
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced SDV environment
• Attention to detail and quality mindset
