Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Mossville, IL, seeks a Plant Modeling‑Hill Engineer to design and implement HiL test solutions with dSPACE hardware, build Simulink models, and develop harnesses for system-level testing.

You will create and integrate the Control Desk GUI to execute tests, diagnose network and electrical issues, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust test plans. Strong Python/C/C++ and J1939 experience are required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems using dSPACE PHS/MRET/MRET Scalexio (bonus if candidate also has Opal experience)
• Ability to create Simulink models to simulate sensor inputs (voltage, PWM) on dSPACE HiL benches for system-level testing
• Solid knowledge of J1939 datalink protocols and embedded network communications (bonus if Ethernet experience)
• Proficiency with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) for datalink monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting
• Design, build, and debug dSPACE PHS/MRET/MRET Scalexio HiL test benches, including hardware integration and signal simulation
• Strong programming knowledge in Python, C, or C++
• Systems-level thinker with cross-domain understanding across components
• Experience diagnosing complex network/electrical issues by correlating software, hardware, and datalink behavior
• Strong communication and collaboration to develop clear test plans and detailed test cases
• Self-starter who ramps up quickly and contributes from day one
