Job summary

Shield AI in Washington state seeks a hands-on Lab Operations Engineer to manage HIL labs and engineering laboratories. You will own hardware readiness, asset control, and multi-program coordination to support software development and testing.

The role requires experience with lab infrastructure, wiring, testing, and documenting work, plus the ability to troubleshoot across power, compute, and networks. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in defense/aerospace/robotics lab support or similar tech ops.
• Experience with lab maintenance, asset control, and safety/compliance.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations and readiness for HIL labs and infrastructure.
• Build, install, configure, and maintain lab hardware and racks.
• Track assets, serials, locations, and calibration records.
• Coordinate lab schedules and cross-program priorities.
• Perform wiring, fabrication, and mechanical rework per procedures.
• Provision and restore dev/test environments, capture logs.
• Troubleshoot lab issues across power, compute, network, and software.
