Job summary

Shield AI in the United States is seeking a hands-on Lab Operations Manager to own day-to-day management of Hivemind's Hardware-in-the-Loop laboratories. You will ensure readiness, manage racks and infrastructure, and support software development with reliable lab environments.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in defense/aerospace or robotics lab operations, strong organizational skills, experience with wiring, and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance. This role is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years operating or supporting engineering labs or mission systems.
• Experience in defense/aerospace/robotics is preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operations and technical readiness for HIL labs and infrastructure.
• Build, install, configure, maintain HIL racks, test benches, compute systems, and network gear.
• Maintain asset control including tagging, serial numbers, location, calibration, and spares.
• Manage lab schedules, maintenance windows, and cross-program priorities.
• Perform wiring and fabrication tasks and verify with tests.
• Read diagrams and BOMs and update documentation and procedures.
• Support software development by provisioning environments and collecting logs.
• Diagnose lab issues across power, wiring, compute, networking, software, and mechanics.
• Coordinate procurement, shipping, receiving, and vendor repairs for lab growth.
