Job summary

The West Suburban YMCA in Newton, MA seeks an energetic Bootcamp/HIIT/HYROX-style instructor to lead high-intensity group exercise classes that are safe, engaging, and inclusive, promoting member wellness and community. Availability at Wells Ave and Church Street is noted.

Compensation ranges from $30 to $45 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and education; a free membership is included and a supportive culture encourages growth and teamwork within the gym.

Qualifications

CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required.
National certification in group fitness instruction (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise.
YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire.
At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead energizing, safe, and educational group classes to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
Answer member questions to support healthy living goals and stay current on wellness trends.
Build authentic relationships with members and help connect them with the YMCA community.
Maintain accurate class attendance records.
Follow YMCA policies and procedures and respond to emergencies.
