Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an Asset Technician to join our Asset Management, Design & Delivery team. You will help plan, investigate and deliver highway maintenance across the county, working with engineers, technicians and contractors to keep roads, footways and cycleways in good order.

This on-site role offers practical development in highways, infrastructure and asset management with benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (including English, Maths and Science) or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Teams and email.
• Ability to investigate problems and identify solutions.

Responsibilities

• Visiting sites to investigate highway issues and collect information.
• Help shape maintenance programmes and future improvements.
• Work with engineers, technicians and contractors on maintenance solutions.
• Support delivery of highway maintenance activities.
• Inspect completed works and ensure quality standards.
• Engage with Town and Parish Councils to understand local priorities.
• Keep residents informed about planned maintenance activities.
