Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an ambitious Asset Systems Engineer to lead the development and delivery of highway asset management systems in Cambridgeshire. You will own the suite of systems, drive improvements, work with suppliers, and champion a data-first approach to asset management, delivering insights for investment and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of asset management systems and their practical applications.
• Experience analysing and interpreting complex data sets.
• Knowledge of highway asset management principles and maintenance practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience leading projects or system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, management and continuous improvement of highway asset systems.
• Transform data into actionable intelligence to support investments and maintenance.
• Monitor performance via KPIs, dashboards and reports.
• Act as technical expert on asset systems and data management.
• Manage system procurements and support project delivery from spec to implementation.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure systems meet organisational needs.
• Mentor colleagues and oversee Asset Systems Officer workload.
• Deliver training and promote best practice across the service.
