State of Indiana, Newport Unit, is seeking an entry-level Highway Technician to maintain Indiana highways and interstates. You will perform general maintenance, assist with snow plowing, and support traffic control during emergencies, with mandatory overtime for winter operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform general highway maintenance to keep roads clean and safe.
• Operate basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment.
• Assist with winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Provide traffic control during emergencies and road closures.
• Complete regular inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
