Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician for the Rural Striping Crew in Afton, Wyoming. The role involves operating and maintaining equipment, conducting striping operations, and ensuring safety compliance across District 3 in Southwest Wyoming.

The position requires CDL within 12 months, plus certifications such as First Aid/ CPR and Flagger. A $2,000 hiring bonus is available for eligible applicants and travel to worksites will be required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state highway pavement marking and signing standards.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State requirements for PPE and safety.
• Ability to obtain CDL Class A within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Trains incumbents in operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Provides work direction to Highway Maintenance Assistant employees.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Conducts striping operations and layout on state highways using specialized equipment.
