Job summary

Nebraska Department of Transportation in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Highway Project Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate the development of local projects, manage schedules, and oversee consultant contracts.

This role involves overseeing federal aid project preparation, coordinating phases from initiation to construction, and collaborating with a team of project managers. NDOT offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive environment for growth.

Qualifications

  • Hwy Project Scheduling Analyst: post-high school coursework/training in engineering, engineering technology, highway construction or maintenance, or project management, and experience in using personal computers to access and use various software programs and databases to extract and prepare data and reports.
  • Hwy Project Scheduling Coordinator: Four years post-high school coursework/training in engineering, construction management/science, or computer science, AND two years of experience in pre-construction design, or technical construction, or computer science activities and procedures, to include the use of project scheduling computer applications to create and modify project schedules.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience as a project manager and experience leading a team of technical experts that assess and mitigate project scope, cost, and schedule risks, with familiarity of PMP certification pathway and project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a program of 15 to 30 projects at a time and be responsible for scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Be involved with every phase of projects from initiation through to construction.
  • Learn the Federal and State requirements and steps to prepare a construction project for advertisement.
  • Be part of the \"Super team\" of technical project managers assigned to oversee projects within a region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
