Job summary

The Town of Wellesley is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Worker for the Highway Division. The incumbent operates vehicles and equipment; performs skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labor on streets, sidewalks, catch basins, etc.; and participates in snow removal, ice control, standby, emergency, and call-in duty.

The incumbent performs skilled operation of assigned vehicles and equipment; performs skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled laboring tasks relating to building and construction work on streets, sidewalks, catch basins, etc.; and is required to participate in snow removal, ice control, standby, emergency, and call-in duty. Ensure proper operation of all equipment and follow all required safety procedures.

Requirements: The incumbent must possess a valid MA Class D license, High School diploma or equivalent; a good employment record; the possession of or ability to obtain a valid a Hoisting Engineer’s License classes 1C and 2C within six months of hire; and the ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and use hand and power tools.

Pay range is $21.24 - $28.53 per hour, depending on qualifications.
