Job summary

Qualifications

• There are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification.
• A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Requires attainment of a Class A CDL within six (6) months of placement in the position.

Responsibilities

• Operates powered tools and hand tools for maintenance tasks.
• Assists with placement of traffic control devices in maintenance work zones.
• Serves as a flagger to safely direct traffic in maintenance work zones.
• Operates small equipment such as a dump truck or forklift.
• Picks up litter, debris, and dead animals.
• Operates a standard dump truck with snowplow attachment and sand spreader to remove snow and ice from highways and bridges.
• May be required to work extended hours or 12-hour shifts during emergencies or inclement weather.
• Supports emergency and inclement weather operations.
