Job summary

Candidates may progress to HWY Maintenance Worker 3 after certification and performance review. This trainee position requires one year of highway maintenance experience or equivalent, with a CDL required within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance.
• One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service.
• Valid driver's license required at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of highway maintenance equipment; perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Establish traffic controls and assist with snow removal, anti-icing, and brine-making operations.
• Respond to emergencies, monitor contract compliance, and document work performed.
• Under supervision, participate in training and progress to the next level after certification.
