The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks skilled highway maintenance workers to operate backhoes, excavators, graders, and other heavy equipment. You will perform daily equipment maintenance, inspections, and coordinate traffic control for work zones along highways and bridges.

Candidates must have at least one year of related experience, a valid driver's license, and must obtain a Class A CDL within six months.

Qualificações

• One year of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL within six months of placement.

Responsabilidades

• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, excavator, grader, and specialized units.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Coordinate traffic control for maintenance work zones.
• Track daily work, locations, equipment used, and materials.
• Assist in snow and ice response and inclement weather operations.
• Remove litter and debris from roadways and rights-of-way.
• Assist in emergency operations and extended shifts as needed.
