State of Nebraska in Oconto, NE seeks a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior to join a dedicated maintenance team. Starting pay is $20.39 per hour, with eligibility for promotion to $21.953 per hour upon certification in heavy equipment use.

CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements must be obtained within 60 days for the Senior level. The role includes snow removal, road repairs, and emergency responses as needed.

Formación

• Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Senior: CDL Class A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsements required within 60 days of employment.
• Preferred: experience operating heavy equipment and basic computer skills; tanker endorsement recommended.

Responsabilidades

• Operate highway maintenance equipment (trucks, rollers, loaders, tractors, snowplows).
• Maintain equipment and maintenance yards; assist with repairs.
• Patch roadways, repair signs, bridges, culverts, and structures.
• Move and load equipment, materials, and hazardous items safely within weight limits.
• Train coworkers on maintenance tasks and procedures.
• Perform snow removal and emergency response as needed.
