Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is hiring a Highway Maintenance Technician in Alberton to operate trucks and heavy equipment for highway maintenance tasks. The role includes culvert work, crack sealing, guardrail installation, and snow/ice control, with opportunities for career advancement within MDT.

The ideal candidate holds a Montana CDL Class A, Type II with no restrictions, a tank endorsement and MEC, and may have a learner's permit with 30 days to obtain full licensure.

Qualifications

• Valid Montana CDL Class A, Type II with no restrictions and MEC.
• Learner’s permit holders have 30 days to obtain license.

Responsabilités

• Operate trucks and heavy equipment for highway maintenance.
• Perform culvert placement/installation and cleaning; crack/mastic sealing, fence/guardrail work, and roadway repairs as needed.
• Conduct snow/ice control and vegetation/roadside maintenance.
• Collaborate with team leads; ensure safety and compliance with MDT policies.
