Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 2 to join the Arlington crew. You will operate heavy and light equipment to maintain roadways, bridges and structures, and assist with weather-related emergencies and cleanup efforts.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.
• Current, valid CDL-A with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days; restrictions as specified.
• Valid U.S. driver license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment and tools to maintain and repair road surfaces.
• Perform pothole and concrete patching and minor inlay work.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and clear snow with plows and deicer trucks.
• Maintain drainage systems and repair culverts, inlets and erosion.
• Maintain fences, guardrails, barriers and milepost markers.
• Clear debris, mow grass and spray roadside vegetation; manage wooded areas as needed.
