County of Kaua‘i is seeking a Highway Maintenance Manager to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the county-wide highway maintenance program within the Department of Public Works. Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the operations of a county-wide program involving the construction, maintenance and repair of all highways, roads, bridges and structures, lights and adjacent areas under the jurisdiction of Highway Maintenance in the Department of Public Works; and performs other related duties as required.
A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree in engineering or a related field; and four (4) years of professional work experience in civil site construction and maintenance that included the construction, installation and maintenance of highways, roads streets and related appurtenant structures, and two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Professional work experience which includes planning, directing, assigning, and reviewing the work of others; advising subordinates on difficult program areas; timing and scheduling subordinate work; and training and developing new employees.
