Job summary

Burleigh County is seeking a journeyman-level automotive/heavy equipment mechanic with welding skills to maintain and repair road and bridge assets. The role supports asphalt patching, snow removal, and general maintenance across the Burleigh County shop locations.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with comprehensive benefits. A CDL Class A with N endorsement is required, and candidates should reside within about 60 minutes of the Burleigh County shop.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• CDL Class A driver's license with N endorsement.
• Preferably 2+ years of Highway Maintenance/related work.

Responsibilities

• Perform journeyman level automotive/heavy equipment maintenance and welding.
• Labor duties on road projects including asphalt patching, mowing, culvert bed prep, snow removal, gravel, and roadway maintenance.
• Operate heavy equipment such as motor graders, loaders, bulldozers, and trucks.
• Act as Team Lead on small, temporary crews as assigned.
