Job summary

State of Colorado's Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Loveland, CO and along the I-70 Mountain Corridor. This role focuses on safety, travel, repair, and outdoor hands-on work.

You will work on a rotating schedule, spend up to six months on the corridor, receive per diem and hotel lodging when deployed, and return to Loveland for the remainder of the year. A Class A or B CDL is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow.
• Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders and tractors.
• Mowing grass and weeds.
• Removing debris from roadways and culverts.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, signs and lighting.
• Filling potholes and roadway cracks.
• Setting out traffic signs and cones for traffic control.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs.
