Job summary

DCS Asset Maintenance in Florida seeks a skilled Crew Leader to supervise highway maintenance crews, perform routine roadway tasks, and ensure safety and quality on projects for state DOTs and commercial clients. Qualified applicants will have at least five years of experience in infrastructure maintenance, strong knowledge of MUTCD, and the ability to obtain a Florida Commercial Applicator license.

A TTC certification and the ability to operate heavy equipment are also required; the company

Qualifications

• Five years of infrastructure maintenance/construction experience.
• Experience planning and monitoring field crews; timesheets/reports.
• Thorough knowledge of highway maintenance practices and equipment.
• Knowledge of MUTCD and work-zone traffic controls.
• Clear English communication skills (oral and written).
• Florida Commercial Applicator license with Right-of-Way/Aquatic categories (or ability to obtain).
• FDOT Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) advanced course and TTC card kept on person.

Responsibilities

• Clean and clear culverts.
• Mowing and clearing brush from roadsides.
• Patch broken/eroded pavements and shoulders.
• Assist in storm cleanup.
• Fence and sign repair.
• Litter/debris removal.
• Emergency response.
• Operate equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, brooms).
• Use power tools (chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers).
