Job summary

GFT is hiring an Electrical Lighting Engineer to design and analyze lighting systems for highways, tunnels and buildings across PA/NJ/NY corridors. You will develop calculations, reports and design documents, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and produce final record drawings as projects close.

The role emphasizes code compliance and energy‑efficient design in a fast-paced, multi‑office setting. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of relevant experience, a BS in Electrical or Architectural

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering preferred.
• EIT or PE is a plus but not required.
• Preparation of technical and cost proposals for electrical design components of transportation and facility projects.
• Lighting analysis including highway lighting warrants, criteria, reports and designs.
• Understanding of NEC, NFPA, IBC codes and standards for electrical and lighting design.

Responsibilities

• Perform site surveys of existing conditions.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Develop project specifications and cost estimates for construction.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, and transportation disciplines.
• Develop final record drawings at project completion.
• Provide support during construction activities as needed.
• Participate in meetings with clients, government agencies, utilities and project teams.
