Job summary

Wright County in Minnesota seeks an Associate/Technical Civil Engineering Technician to support preliminary surveying, construction surveying, project design and inspection under moderate supervision. Duties include field surveys with equipment, verifying road alignment and drainage, preparing drawings and estimates, conducting inspections and QA tests on materials.

Requires an Associate/Technical degree in civil engineering, one year of related experience; MnDOT Inspector certification

Qualifications

• Associate/Technical degree in civil engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience in surveying, planning, inspections, or equivalent.
• MnDOT Inspector certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys by setting up and operating field survey equipment to locate and record project topography.
• Check road alignment and drainage features; document conditions and sites.
• Assist in design and plan preparation for highway construction projects using computer programs.
• Prepare estimates, drawings, charts, graphs, and quantities; research land records for right-of-way activities.
• Perform project inspections and QA tests on materials and soil; maintain records and reports.
