Job summary

Mower County Public Works is seeking a hands-on equipment operator to maintain and repair county highways, bridges, and facilities in Austin, MN. You will operate dump trucks, graders, excavators, and other equipment, especially during snow events and emergencies.

Qualifications include a High school diploma or GED, one year of equipment operation, and a valid CDL prospect. On-site work environment with competitive pay and full-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of equipment operation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
• This position requires CDL basics with potential to obtain Class A within 12 months; tanker endor. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment used in highway maintenance.
• Plow and sand county roads during winter weather and emergencies.
• Apply sand and salt for snow and ice control.
• Grade and maintain county roads and shoulders.
• Set up work zones and traffic-control devices.
• Assist with road construction and maintenance tasks.
