Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced Highway Engineer to lead transportation projects across the Mid-Atlantic and nationally. The role involves technical leadership, project management, and client coordination for complex roadway and multimodal projects.

The candidate should have 11–15 years of highway experience, an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, and MDPE eligibility.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering.
• Maryland PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months via comity.
• 11–15 years highway engineering experience.
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA and MDOT SHA guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of highway projects, including roadway alignments, geometric design, and multimodal facilities.
• Prepare and review construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development through proposal preparation and client presentations.
