Job summary

HDR is seeking a Highway EIT/Coordinator in Houston to contribute to detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects. You will work with project engineers on alignment, geometrics, drainage, and prepare plans and construction estimates.

Preferred candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; EIT certification is encouraged, with potential progression toward professional licensure as you grow with our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.
  • Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates.
  • Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Highway EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
  • Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates
  • Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworksity and Civil3d
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
