Job summary

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. in Pittsburgh is seeking engineers at all levels to join our Access Design team.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work on multiple projects within a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include managing PennDOT HOP related design projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams on highway and traffic design, and assisting with reports, cost estimates, and construction schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT, FE, or PE is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Civil CAD software: MicroStation, AutoCAD or OpenRoad.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manages and oversees PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) related design projects.
• Works with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, highway design, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking plans, MPT plans, and drainage design plans/reports.
• Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, and construction schedules for projects

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• EIT, FE, or PE (not required, but preferred)
• Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoad)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License
