Job summary

Darlington Borough Council is seeking a Highway Design professional to lead a range of highway improvement schemes from concept through to delivery. You will work with colleagues and contractors to ensure schemes meet required standards and project objectives.

You will draw on AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office, applying strong communication and problem‑solving skills to manage priorities and deliver outcomes that benefit residents and visitors across the borough.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway design and project delivery is preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills are required.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of highway schemes from concept to delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders and contractors to ensure schemes meet standards and objectives.
