Position Summary:

Responsible for engineering design, applying general engineering principles to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform alternative studies
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
• Perform design computations
• Design projects according to client specifications using design software and drawing tools
• Develop construction cost estimates
• Assist in preparing engineering documents for advertisement and construction
• Coordinate with team members to ensure project completion within deadlines and quality standards

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• Proficiency in discipline-specific design software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer-in-training certification
• Related experience, especially working with local clients at county and state levels

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment (95%), with occasional fieldwork outside in various weather conditions. Some lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.
