Job summary

Texas Materials, A CRH company, is seeking an Operations Manager with a focus on highway construction and asphalt/concrete operations. This role partners with senior management on project management, safety culture, and cost control to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field (or equivalent experience), a valid driver's license, and proven growth in highway construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• Valid state driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Proven experience increasing responsibilities in highway construction or similar duties.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working culture for all employees and enhance safety.
• Serve as project manager for construction crews; establish objectives, policies and standards.
• Coordinate with prime client and subcontractors to facilitate activities.
• Monitor projects to ensure on-schedule and within-budget delivery; investigate issues and implement corrective measures.
• Recognize and negotiate change orders.
• Develop and maintain backlog for operations.
• Develop teamwork and foster team spirit within authority area.
• Ensure quality product and service to the customer.
• Supervise construction teams and develop personnel to excel.
• Assist in job bidding and provide support during process.
• Ensure safety, environment and other laws are adhered to; interface with maintenance and vendors as needed.
• Manage contracts finances to protect company interests and maintain client relationships.
• Assist in operating budget planning under VP/GM direction.
