Job summary

Hirebridge in Pacific, WA is seeking an experienced Highway Construction Estimator to lead bid estimation for heavy civil projects. You will review bid documents, create take-offs, quantify materials, and price for precise proposals while coordinating with field and office teams.

This on-site role requires 5+ years with a GC in heavy construction, proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office, and strong communication to vendors and clients. Occasional site inspections are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with a significant General Contractor in heavy construction.
• Experience with estimating process on medium to large size projects.
• Experience with public works projects involving prevailing wage work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project management software.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Highway Construction Estimator position is responsible for the estimation of the entire project, including reviewing bid documents and specifications, creating take-offs, quantifying, and qualifying material quantities and prices for a precise and accurate bid proposal.

*THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION IN PACIFIC, WA

COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $100,000 DOE

Requirements:

• Review new projects posted for bidding
• Generate and develop bids, leads via electronic and printed sources
• Perform accurate take-off of blueprints to confirm quantities
• Job site inspections for estimates and bids when warranted
• Organize and prepare pre-bid packages: secure plans, specifications, addendums, etc.
• Review bid specifications/blueprints to prepare bid package requirements
• Attending bid openings and pre-construction meetings when warranted
• Maintain relations with all vendors, clients, engineers, architects, owners, etc.
• Communicate bid information to Senior Project Manager
• Obtains pricing for materials
• Obtains bids from subcontractors

Experience Required:

• 5+ years’ experience with a significant General Contractor employer in the heavy construction industry
• Applicants should have experience, in and an understanding of, the estimating process on medium to large size projects
• Experience with Public works projects involving prevailing wage work within city, county and state agencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project management software
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget

Education Required:

• Vocational or apprenticeship training supplemented with 3-5 years of construction leadership experience, or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Construction Management or combination of experience and education

Physical Requirements:

• Work in both office and field settings, requiring adaptability to various conditions

Work Environment:

• Regular travel to and from job sites <10% of the time
• Combination of office and fieldwork, requiring adaptability to various environments and conditions
