Job summary

H&H is seeking a Highway/Civil Engineer to join our Annapolis, Maryland team. You will produce highway and civil designs for new or rehabilitation roadway projects, and apply standards from MUTCD, HCM, and AASHTO.

Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak and AutoCAD is preferred, with strong QA/QC practices. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 5–8 years of Mid-Atlantic design experience, including roadways, traffic control, and site/civil work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5–8 years of design experience in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

• Produce highway and civil designs for roadway projects.
• Apply standards from MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO guidelines.
• Display experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD; CAD standards knowledge.
• Complete work with QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate with design team and mentor junior engineers.
• Project engineering responsibilities including communication, schedule, budget and progress.

Responsibilities

• Produce highway and civil designs required for new or rehabilitation roadway projects, bridge-related projects, or general site/civil improvements
• Apply the standards and analysis techniques described in the manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO A Policy on the Geometric Design of Streets and Highways, et al
• Display experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and AutoCAD. Working knowledge of the current CADD standards for MDSHA, DelDOT, DDOT & VDOT is preferred
• Complete work accurately and in accordance with quality control and quality assurance procedures
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with other members of the design team. Manage, train and mentor less experienced engineers in the production of plans, specifications, and estimates
• Project engineering responsibilities related to project communication, schedule, budget, and progress on various concurrent tasks

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• PE License
• Five to eight years of design experience in the Mid-Atlantic Region, including:
  • Roadway/highway design experience
  • Maintenance of traffic drawings and traffic control plans
  • Site/Civil experience including R.O.W., utilities, and drainage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary range- $90,000-$105,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience.
