We are offering an exciting opportunity for an entry-level civil/highway designer to join our award-winning highway/roadway practice in our New York City office. This is an opportunity to apply your skills, contribute to major projects, and be mentored by engineers with significant experience delivering projects to some of the area’s largest municipalities.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the design and development of conceptual, alternative, and final design plans for highway, roadway, interchange, and drainage projects.
2. Assist in the design and production of traffic control and staging plans, as well as traffic signing and striping plans.
3. Perform geometric designs and plan development utilizing computer design software, including MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, AutoTurn, and GuideSign.
4. Assist in designing ADA-compliant facilities, including sidewalks, shared-use paths, and intersection curb ramps.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
• Zero to five years of civil engineering experience
• Detailed-oriented, self-starter, and comfortable working in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with MicroStation V8i and Bentley InRoads
• EIT certification; prior experience is a plus

Benefits

Salary range — $72,000 to $100,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience.
