Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineer with a Florida P.E. license to lead highway and bridge design projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure design quality, and coordinate with FDOT districts and Florida Turnpike Enterprise to win and execute transportation projects.

The role requires extensive transportation engineering experience, strong leadership, and the ability to deliver complex roadway programs within FDOT standards. Hybrid work options are available in select locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with the ability to serve as Engineer of Record (EOR).
• Significant post‑graduate experience in transportation and highway engineering, including leading roadway design projects.
• Experience with FDOT Districts 2, 4, 5, 6, and/or 7 and Florida Turnpike Enterprise projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex roadway projects in FDOT contexts.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT project development processes and roadway design standards across multiple districts.
• Track record of building and maintaining relationships with FDOT personnel, clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager for highway and bridge design projects, including operational and safety improvements.
• Lead technical teams in developing solutions to complex roadway design challenges, requiring a high degree of innovation and ingenuity.
• Provide technical expertise by formulating and developing advanced design concepts, techniques, and standards.
• Ensure effective utilization of engineering personnel while maintaining high technical quality standards.
• Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to secure new projects and expand client relationships, particularly within FDOT Districts 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7, and Florida Turnpike Enterprise.
