Job description

Seton College at the University of Mount Saint Vincent has partnered with iMentor, a national mentoring nonprofit, to launch a program supporting college students through meaningful relationships with mentors.

The Higher Education Mentorship Fellow will support high-impact relationships between approximately 40 Seton College student mentees, recruited through an opt-in pathway inside Seton's career-readiness program, and volunteer mentors from a range of professional and personal backgrounds. The Fellow will support the program from launch through ongoing engagement. They will help prepare mentors and mentees to participate, facilitate pair matching, monitor engagement, and follow up with participants who need additional support. They will also serve as the primary day-t0-day contact for participants and a key connector between the institution, mentors, mentees, and iMentor to help keep the program running smoothly.

The Fellow is hired, employed, and supervised by iMentor. Emma Brodeur, iMentor's Director of Partner Success, oversees the Fellow's day-to-day direction, supervision, timesheets, and performance in executing the responsibilities of this role. The Fellow will be embedded into the Seton College campus and will work alongside Liz Trudo, Seton's Career Specialist and the campus lead for the mentorship program.

This is a part-time, fixed-term, hourly position running October 2026 - May 2027, based in Riverdale, Bronx, NY. A weekly on-campus presence is required, on a schedule mutually agreed upon by the Fellow, iMentor, and Seton College; remaining hours may be worked remotely.

What You'll Do

Launch & Match Coordination | Approximately 40 mentee/mentor pairs

  • Support the implementation of Seton’s mentorship program by preparing mentors and mentees for participation, coordinating pair matches, and managing platform setup.
  • Support training logistics and host and facilitate live mentor and mentee trainings during implementation as well as delivering info sessions and orientations.
  • Use resourcefulness and platform data to develop, test, and refine proactive systems that reflect the institution's local context, helping pairs to meet monthly goals.
  • Build relationships with mentors and mentees, identify barriers to participation, and help pairs re-engage when communication or participation stalls.
  • Send biweekly discussion prompts and a monthly connection survey to help pairs maintain consistent written communication and meet live at least once per month; follow up with non-responders within 5 business days.
  • Track and analyze engagement data to identify trends, prioritize outreach, and tailor support, coaching, and communication to individual pairs; document anecdotal and qualitative insights from emails and conversations.
  • Coach mentors to serve as effective resources as mentees navigate college persistence, professional planning, and degree completion.
  • Manage event logistics, including RSVPs, reminders, materials, and attendance tracking.
  • Hold a beginning-of-program call or meeting with every mentor and every mentee; maintain a weekly on-campus presence (one full day or two half-days as agreed upon) for informal check-ins; surface any fit concerns raised in those conversations.
Pair Tracking, Reporting & Partnership Liaison
  • Support users with iMentor platform access, navigation, and basic troubleshooting; elevate technical issues to iMentor when needed.
  • Run off-platform connection tracking week to week; maintain pair records and the engagement log; produce the monthly engagement report with pair-level flags; serve as first point of contact when a pair reports a problem.
  • Share program updates, questions, and feedback with the institution and iMentor teams; flag risks and stalled pairs for timely intervention.
What We're Looking For
  • A self-starter who can work independently with regular, not constant, oversight
  • Excellent organization and time management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, dynamic environment
  • Clear, direct, and empathetic written and verbal communication skills
  • Persistent and proactive when following up with participants and encouraging accountability while maintaining positive relationships
  • A thoughtful problem-solver who can think on their feet, adapt to changing circumstances, and respond effectively when plans shift
  • Comfortable navigating digital platforms and patient when helping non-technical users troubleshoot technology
  • Experience in program coordination, project management, student affairs, community engagement, or a related field
  • Experience using data to identify trends, understand engagement, and inform decisions
  • A genuine belief that meaningful mentorship can help students navigate college and build toward their goals
  • Familiarity with the Seton College or the University of Mount Saint Vincent campus community and student population, strongly preferred
Compensation & Logistics
  • $25/hour, up to 720 total hours, not to exceed $18,000 total
  • Up to 20 hours per week, from October 2026 - May 2027
