Job summary

University at Buffalo Campus Dining & Shops is seeking a Probationary Full-Time Union kitchen associate in Buffalo, NY. The position focuses on delivering quality meals to students, faculty, staff and visitors with strong customer service in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will perform high-volume prep, knife-related tasks, use prep equipment, and follow standardized recipes. Ongoing training, safety protocols, and proper sanitation are required. Overtime may occur per the union contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of high-volume food preparation experience.
• Must have knife handling skills and training, math skills, and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and measure ingredients accurately and quickly.
• Experience organizing and maintaining kitchen workstations.
• Excellent communication and customer service in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares customer orders quickly and efficiently.
• Interact with guests and respond to requests professionally.
• High-volume prep work and knife-driven recipe prep.
• Maintain production and usage records.
• Food storage and rotation; equipment operation and maintenance.
• Present all food attractively and maintain a clean work area.
• Assist with training student employees and general cleaning tasks.
