Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for PCB (STARLINK) to drive supplier selection, qualification, and scaling for high‑volume PCBs used in Starlink User Terminals. You will lead PPAP/FAI programs, assess supplier capabilities, and collaborate with Design, Reliability, RF/Electrical, and Production teams to meet aggressive growth targets.

The role requires hands-on PCB manufacturing knowledge, quality systems experience, and the ability to turn suppliers into reliable, scalable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, RF Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years in PCB engineering, quality engineering, reliability engineering, or supplier development.

Responsibilities

  • Own PCB supplier development for Starlink User Terminal BOM with focus on incoming quality and reliability.
  • Build a scalable PCB supplier base for high-volume production ramp and growth.
  • Assess supplier capabilities: capacity, stability, equipment, and readiness for high-volume PCB fabrication.
  • Lead PPAP, FAI, rate ramps, and reliability campaigns for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Develop qualification plans: dimensional, RF, thermal, dielectric tests; ensure standards compliance.
  • Standardize qualification protocols across PCB suppliers: FAT/SAT checks and reliability methods.
  • Drive supplier improvements via Lean, scorecards, audits, and systematic problem solving.
  • Perform root cause analysis for PCB defects (delamination, plating issues, warpage, impedance drift).
  • Collaborate with Design, Reliability, RF/Electrical, and Production teams to align capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement for supplier quality systems and high-frequency PCBs.
