Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI) in Fresno, CA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage high-volume payrolls for 60–80 client companies with diverse pay cycles.

You will onboard new clients, work with Salesforce, timekeeping and HRIS, and identify process improvements to drive efficiency. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years payroll experience in a fast-paced multi-client environment, strong client service skills, and familiarity with wage laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a multi-client, fast-paced environment.
• Strong client service orientation and superb customer service skills.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement and streamlining—within prior role or department.
• Experience as a bookkeeper or accountant desirable.
• Must be self-driven to succeed and help drive success for clients.
• Knowledge of wage and hour laws and taxability of wages.
• Exposure to workers’ compensation claims management helpful.

Responsibilities

• Run high-volume, on- and off-cycle payrolls for 800+ employees across multiple client companies.
• Onboard new clients and become expert in BBSI payroll, CRM, timekeeping and HRIS systems; identify options to improve results.
• Perform on-site client payroll training and payroll software training.
• Become subject matter expert on client data including turnover, headcount, time & attendance, and reporting requirements.
