Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Line Cook for Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. The role covers daily meal preparation for regular and special events with rotating shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent, 2–4 years of large-scale line cook experience, and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Knowledge of high-volume school dining is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience as a large-scale restaurant line cook or contract dining cook.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with high-volume food service operations, preferably in school environments.
• Ability to measure products and convert units.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation, cooking, and portioning of large quantities of meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, cereals, soups, sauces, fruits, bread, desserts, and other food items.
• Prepare items in batches close to serving time to ensure quality and avoid over-production.
• Follow recipes and suggest changes to improve quality and presentation.
• Cook, maintain, and store all foods at required temperatures.
• Take and record temperatures, following sanitation standards for safety.
• Maintain records of production, attendance, and leftovers for forecasting.
• Organize and sanitize coolers, freezers, and storerooms with proper labeling and dating.
• Attend production meetings and offer input on efficiency and product quality.
• Perform duties in line with food safety and sanitation best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
