Job summary

Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee is seeking a Cook to prepare quality meals for residents, guests and staff, following standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.

The role requires Serv Safe certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days, 3+ years of high-volume culinary experience, basic math, and a willingness to provide a leadership role. Proficiency with MS Office and English literacy is expected. We offer flexible hours, competitive wages, health insurance, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Serv Safe certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform basic math skills; three or more years of culinary experience in a high-volume full-service dining environment.
• Understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity production.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data type programs.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and follow written and oral directions.
• Willingness to provide a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Setup work stations according to established guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distribute prepared food to all areas of service accurately and restock items as needed during the shift.
• Clean and maintain station with proper safety, sanitation and organization.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
