Job summary

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a large distribution and retail organization in Little Rock, Arkansas. This temp-to-hire role requires meticulous detail orientation and the ability to manage high-volume invoices while ensuring timely payments.

You will maintain vendor records, code and process invoices, perform 2- and 3-way matching, and assist with month-end close. Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts payable or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-entity environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is helpful but not required with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, match, and enter a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Perform two-way and three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, receiving documents, and other records.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, missing documentation, duplicates, and vendor issues.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, purchasing teams, warehouse personnel, store/location leaders, and internal staff.
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, payment records and related AP support materials.
• Prepare invoices for payment processing with approvals in line with policies.
• Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other payment processes.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances or unapplied credits.
• Support month-end close activities including accruals, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Identify process improvements to strengthen accuracy and internal controls.
• Provide backup support to other accounting and administrative functions.
