Job summary

City and County of San Francisco (SFPUC) is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Line Worker to join the Intervening Electric Distribution project. The role involves skilled line work on high voltage lines, both overhead and underground, with duties including rigging, splicing, and emergency power restoration.

The position requires two years journey-level experience or a State-certified electrical line apprenticeship and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of verifiable work experience as a journey-level line worker on 600–230,000 V systems, including overhead and underground lines.
• Or completion of a State certified electrical line apprenticeship program.
• Must possess a current, valid California Driver's license. City/SFMO require Class B or higher for SF locations; other site licenses may apply.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain high-tension overhead and underground transmission systems and feeder lines.
• Operate substations, breakers, relays, and related controls.
• Provide emergency response to outages and maintain street lighting systems.
• Comply with safety policies for safety-sensitive positions.
